How To Jailbreak 2.0 Mac and PC

Firmware 2.0 just got better with the Dev Team releasing Pwnage with 2.0 support but some of us are left in the dark. Lucky Mac users such as myself have easy Pwnage 2.0 support but the Dev Team is still working on a platform for PC. However there is a method on how to do this easily..

If you are looking to jailbreak your iPhone using a Mac there is no need for me to write a guide as there are many such as this one. On the other hand, for the PC many people do not know how to do it and that is why I am here to help you out! Before we go any further make sure you are on firmware 2.0 with the latest version of iTunes!

1. BACK UP YOUR IPHONE! I know it takes awhile but it is a must

2.  Download these two files: Firmware and x12220000_4_Recovery Update: The Download links are down but you can try these mirrors which can be found at the bottom of this page. Try at your own risks

3.  Vista users go to: Start>Search and enter : %appdata%\Apple Computer\iTunes and for XP users go to : Start>Run> and enter: %appdata%\Apple Computer\iTunes

4. Once you are there see if there is a directory called “Device Support”. If there is clear it and if there is not make a new one

5. Inside the Device Support directory place x12220000_4_Recovery.ipsw which you downloaded above.

6. From here place your iPhone in DFU mode. If you do not know how of course youtube does!:

7. When your iPhone is in DFU mode it will have a black screen compared to the USB cord and iTunes logo before. Connect it to iTunes and it should say that it detects an iPhone in recovery mode. If it does not try entering it into DFU mode with the phone connected to iTunes.  Once detected hold SHIFT and click RESTORE.

8. From here browse for the firmware you downloaded before titled “iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Custom_Restore.ipsw” and click on it. It will unpack the ipsw file and start restoring your iPhone. You will see a new logo appear and it is the Dev Teams logo which will appear to be a pineapple.

9. After the long process of restoring you will be asked to activate your iPhone again.

10. After activation restore your old settings which I told you to do before. It should ask you to do this after activating but if not right click on your iPhone on the right and click restore iphone.

I hope this works for you and it is an easy jailbreak in just 10 steps! I am not responsible for anything that happens to your iPhone and you must perform this at your own risk.
